Popeyes’ Apple Caramel Cheesecake is a round, individual-sized cheesecake swirled with tangy caramel apple filling on a graham cracker crust.
I paid $3.79 for one.
As far as aroma goes, there’s a noticeable caramel note that wafts out from the cheesecake.
In terms of appearance, my particular cheesecake was smooth on top with several cracks on the surface. It wasn’t browned at all, suggesting that it’s a no-bake cheesecake.
There were bits of apples in the filling but they didn’t taste like much. The filling had a tanginess and wasn’t terribly sweet but it mostly tasted like caramel. The texture isn’t much different from the cheesecake itself.
The cheesecake portion was nice enough–smooth but substantial and moderately creamy with a mild tang.
The crust added a nice bit of texture and flavor but wasn’t crunchy or crispy. Instead, it was soft and crumbly.
Overall, Popeyes’ Apple Caramel Cheesecake was enjoyable but tasted very similar to a frozen cheesecake from the supermarket. If I didn’t know that it was an “apple caramel cheesecake,” I would have guessed it was a caramel cheesecake.
