In case you have a hankering for apple pie minus the crust, Burger King introduces new Fried Apple Bites over in New Zealand.
The new fast-food menu item features diced “hot apple, wrapped in cubes of crispy coating, deep fried and dusted with delicious cinnamon sugar.”
Fried Apple Bites are sold in a pack of three. You can also order them with a side of soft serve for an apple a la mode-type dessert.
I’m guessing the apples must be frozen or thickened with starch or something to maintain their shape before being coated and fried.
