Starbucks teams up with Universal Pictures to launch two new, limited-time beverages inspired by the upcoming movie, Wicked.
Originally a book that was made into a musical play that, in turn, was made into the new movie, Wicked tells a story centered on the Wicked Witch of the East of the Wizard of Oz before she was the Wicked Witch of the East. The two new Starbucks drinks are inspired by Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the East) and Glinda the Good.
Elphaba’s Cold Brew features Starbucks Cold Brew coffee and peppermint-flavored syrup, topped with non-dairy match cold foam and green sprinkles (since the Wicked Witch of the East is known for having green skin).
Glinda’s Pink Potion consists of a Mango Dragonfruit Starbucks Refreshers shaken with coconut milk, ice, and a scoop of freeze-dried dragonfruit. The drink is then finished with a layer of non-dairy strawberry cold foam and colorful sprinkles.
Along with the new drinks, Starbucks introduces limited-time Wicked-inspired gift Starbucks Cards. Then, starting November 7, 2024, select Starbucks stores will offer new, limited-edition, Wicked-inspired drinkware.
The story of Wicked will be split into two parts: Wicked Part One arrives in theaters on November 22, 2024, while Part Two is scheduled to hit theaters on November 21, 2025.
